Job Responsibilities:

The Superintendent is responsible for the overseeing and directing all practical aspects of the build throughout completion. A successful Superintendent is a self-directed, detail- oriented, time manager who is comfortable with complex and fast paced projects. They seek input and collaborate with team members as well as develop and inspire teamwork with PM’s, PEs, vendors, subcontractors, and owners. 

  • Project planning and scheduling for all vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and field staff
  • Integrity and ingenuity in the methods that it takes to build a quality multi-story building
  • Managing project subcontractors to the contracted scope of work
  • Supervise all project partners, subcontractors, vendors and manage their task readiness, work progress, and quality of installation
  • Maintaining tight communication with office and field staff
  • Ensuring safety and compliance throughout the entirety of each project
  • Scheduling and coordination of inspections
  • Supervision and direction of the physical construction of the project
  • Meet with project ownership weekly with progress updates
  • Drive cost effective project management techniques and strategies in the field
  • Maintain a clear daily job site log
  • Maintain a strict build out schedule and make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met

To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 10 – 15 years of experience in a Construction Superintendent role
  • 5 – 10 years experience as Superintendent of multi-story commercial buildings
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of managing site logistics and contract operations on tight urban sites
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, site cost control, and safety procedures for multi-story commercial buildings
  • Knowledge of and proficiency using software such as Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word
  • Must be construction-document and architectural drawing literate with knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Strong technical and direct/​indirect communication skills are critical
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification
  • Ability to read or speak a language other than English is not required but is a benefit to the position
